2021: A Year for Optimism

I think we can all agree that 2020 was a trying year, to say the least. Whether you experienced personal loss, sickness or just had the need to re-evaluate your own priorities, 2020 was a year that pushed many of us. When reflecting even on my yearly new year post, I know last year the word was focus and sure enough the year made us question our own focus for our lives.

As this new year begins, I think our new word should be optimism. I think many are beginning to change their minds on what was traditionally accepted or else not really questioned. The onslaught of renewed vigor for the Black Lives Matter movement, recent election of a new leader for the U.S., surges within the stock market, a COVID-19 vaccine being rolled out and more within the past few weeks show there may be better days yet ahead and soon. I think a healthy dose of newer optimism is especially needed now and truly feel as though many changes are happening for the better.

For a New Year’s resolution, I think it worthwhile to practice more frequent self-care, seek meaningful opportunities for improvement whether financial, spiritual, personal or whatever you desire and go forth with optimism for 2021. This new year will be better, and so will you. What are your goals for 2021?
