It is that time of year again where we reflect on the past year and think about the year to come. This upcoming year feels different though. We are truly venturing into a new decade! Of course, we had before but now we are about to experience the new 20’s and all the joys and challenges that may come.
As I reflect upon this upcoming new year and my goals moving forward, I realize this year will require focus and a bit more discipline than before. My new resolutions, or let’s call them intentions as that is always a tricky word, require that I grow as an educator, writer, author, professional. I already have some projects underway and am happy to announce my debut novel book launch (as you’ll see in the below flyer and if you’re in the NYC area, stop on by!). However, to truly grow I would need to practice my craft more and seek opportunities that push me. I will make those steps this coming year.
I will write more because, in order to get better at anything, you must practice, practice, practice. I will read more because reading informs writing and I shouldn’t simply save pleasure reading for the summer. It should be enjoyed year-round, even when I feel a tad stressed from work. I will engage in more learning opportunities. As an educator, aspiring leader and role model for my students; you never stop learning. By actively seeking more professional development, training and participating in events meant to hone my craft; I believe I can accomplish this.
This new year will be great. I speak it into existence. What are your goals for 2020?
I haven’t yet set any goals for 2020. I guess I should get on that!
Hey, it’s never too late! Plus, the year is still early yet. Have a great year whatever you decide to do!
Hope you reach your goals in 2020. Good luck!
Thanks, me too haha! All the best to you as well!
Thank you for sharing your aspirations for the new year. Yes, practice makes perfect.
It really does!
Congratulations on you book release. Wishing you many more successful releases in the coming years! Happy New Year!
Thank you so much! You have a wonderful and Happy New Year as well!
Completely true.
We should focus right from the starting from the new year.
Planning is absolutely necessary.
It definitely is!
That’s a great inspirational goal, to focus. Most of us get easily swayed by the swarm of tasks every day.
It is so easy to get lost in the daily grind but we should try our best to accomplish our dreams.
To think before I react, listen to inspirational podcasts, and travel!
Those sound like some amazing resolutions to me! All the best this year!
This is an amazing approach to the New Year! Best of luck to you this year.
All the best to you as well!
Agree with you. Even I have plans to write and write and improve. Liked your determination and all the best for your future.
Thank you. All the best in your endeavors as well!
My goals for 2020 are to listen more and speak less. As a talker it’s going to be a challenge!
Ooh, that’s powerful. We do need more listeners!
Happy New Year! All very solid goals, cant wait to have a great year!
Me too! I hope you have a great and Happy New Year as well!
Congratulations on your upcoming novel! I look forward to hearing more about it!
Thank you so much, I’m super excited! I will definitely write how the launch goes.
I never have set goals in a new year. I usually just do it when I have the idea for it. Good luck with your goals in the new year x
That’s a good mentality to have as well at the end of the day. I’ve always been a planner so lists and goals help a lot haha!
Focus is a great word for 2020! I felt super distracted in 2019 so it’s a perfect word for me too!
Thanks, I thought of playing on the ‘vision’ theme for 2020 and thought ‘focus’ was just the right word for this year!
